L'AGREMENT (Approval)
To acquire the Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) label, giving our Pouilly-sur-Loire and Pouilly Fumé the right to print this information on their labels (which affords them international recognition), our wines have to pass a State laboratory analysis and tasting approval successfully. These are controlled very strictly by the profession and INAO (National Institute of Controlled Origin Appellations). The wines then receive marketing authorisation (often from 15 December onwards); most wines only start to emerge from producers' cellars in early Spring, however.
The Pouilly-sur-Loire wine producers take as much pride in working with their vines as in developing them and sending bottles to you, wherever you may be in the world. Pouilly-Fumé is known and renowned worldwide, with exports accounting for over 60% of total sales.
