Domaine Patrice Moreux

In the 11th century the Benedictine monastic order created the “Loge aux Moines” or Monks’ Lodge, which held the monopoly of Pouilly-Fumé. Since 1972, Patrice, a wise man, has owned the domaine that came from his parents, members of the Moreux and Corty families, who had received it as a wedding present from their own parents. The twins Arnaud and Julien, each holding diplomas in economics and management, have carried on the tradition since 2009 and 2011, respectively.  That tradition allows them to give prominence to the typicity of the wines while ensuring their consistency.  “We have always worked with the moon and our natural yeasts!” Arnaud, the extrovert, focuses on the vines, winemaking and exports, which account for 45 percent of production.  Julien, more reserved, focuses on the wine cellar, the domestic clientele and administrative work.  Here, this former management controller is in his element.  They have a common goal: to make the wine they love, their model being that of the year of their birth in 1982.  Patrice will pass the baton to his kids, to a trumpet call sounded by Arnaud, while reserving the right to go fishing with Julien. He has confidence in his sons.  The feasts put together by Julien will continue to gather the family together!
