At the domaine, they still revere Sorbonne professor Jean Renaud. He was a wine yeast specialist whose work on those of the Loire valley allowed Grandfather Champeau, winemaker at the Château du Nozet, to set up his own wine-making enterprise. According to Franck, passionate about vineyards and his work, and an all-round handyman who makes everything himself, conviviality blends with public life. For his neighbors, his friends, it’s the team of the near identically named hamlet of Chambeau that he represents on the municipal council of Saint Andelain. And that’s not handyman work!
