Domaine Bonnard

Claire et Martine Bonnard took over from their father Bernard, not far from Chavignol. Their Pouilly vines came from their winemaker grandparents in Les Loges. These women winemakers know how to cultivate their feminine sensibility so as to give their winemaking a face imbued with a charm that moderates the rigor of their calling. A logistics specialist, Claire renewed her link with the soil in 2005 when she undertook her first vinification. Being up to the task brought a huge sense of fulfillment. With her sister, they are equal parts of a kindred which will perpetuate itself continuing in their father’s footsteps – maybe through the daughters. The life rules consist of sharing, knowing the terroir and the tasting of the wine. On these occasions one can detect a little something that a partaker will always let show through the creasing of a wrinkle, the spreading of a smile, or an outburst of joy!
