Domaine Pierre Marchand et Fils

The two Marchand brothers, Eric and Pascal, run the domaine. Eric was destined to be a winemaker, and Pascal was originally a forester. He joined his brother a little later. While Pascal focuses on observing nature, Eric enjoys the personal touch. At Les Loges, using the “Mr Jourdain” method, they are unaware that they practice wine tourism. (The playwright Molière created this social climbing character in the 17th century, who is astonished to learn that he has unknowingly spoken prose all his life.) Their customers come to hear the song of the true cicadas, a fixture of summer, even if they don’t have the accent of the south of France! And if they arrive in recreational vehicles or camper vans, thanks to the France Passion network of free overnight parking spaces provided by winegrowers and other farmers all over France, it’s because this domaine charms in the way it welcomes these tourists who are curious to discover the world of wine. The tasting room is the place for sharing. The teacher goes over the special features of clay-limestone and limestone soils with the beginners. This is child’s play for the pros … but not necessarily for novices!
